He will make a great big brother!

My cousin and her family came over yesterday to visit and test out how Hunter would be with a baby in his own house. He was GREAT!!! At first he was not all that interested in Ryan but as time went on his curiousity grew. It was wonderful to watch! He listened as we told him he had to be gentle with the baby and such and that is exactly what he was, gentle. He even started pointing at Ryan and saying "baby". So, he knew what Ryan was and everything! He watched as Erin fed Ryan and even sat next to her as she held Ryan and they looked at Hunter's baby book together. That was precious! Hunter even did well when Christian and I held Ryan. He did not have one meltdown! This gives us hope that he will be ok once his baby brother arrives. Sure, I am positive there will be moments when he has jealousy issues but we will work through it as a family. It was just reassuring that he did not meltdown once yesterday while the baby was here and we were holding him and talking to him. Once Erin and her family left Hunter kept looking around the house for the baby. He would go from room to room saying "baby" for a period of time. So, we know he liked when Ryan was here. He will get to see Ryan again this weekend because we are headed to Ryan's house for some visiting time! Hunter loves going to his Uncle Marius and Aunt Erin's house!!!

Something to make you all smile.

Just when I thought he could never figure out how to open it, HE DID!!! While I was getting Hunter's lunch made today he was quietly playing in his room. No big deal. Well, I stopped in to check on him and he had found the sample bottles of baby wash and I snatched them out of his hands and opened them up to discover they were sealed. So, I figured that he could play with one of the bottles and it would not be a problem. Man, was I wrong! He figured out how to peel the little foil seal off the bottle and proceeded to cover himself in baby wash!!! As I was in the kitchen I heard him say "uh oh mama" so I headed to his room to be greeted by a smiling, baby washed covered little boy! I had to laugh and he started to laugh too. I really wish I would have taken a picture of him before I stripped his clothes off and threw them in the washer. It really was a sight to see. Now when he sees the baby wash bottle he looks at me and says "no no mama"! How right he is! I bet you are all smiling after reading this story and if not you must be having one of "those" days!

In like a lion....

In like a lion and out like a lamb - not true! March is not going out like a lamb for us. We certainly had some interesting weather this past weekend. It ranged from warm temps last week to thunderstorms and diving temps on Saturday to snow on Sunday! So, the "lamb" part of March is not there. I guess it is ok that it snowed yesterday because it did not start until the evening and will not happen again any time soon. It is supposed to be in the 50s this entire week. I sure hope the warm up continues since April is literally right around the corner and hits this Wednesday. We are also lucky since we don't live in Colorado. My brother and his wife do and they got buried by a blizzard! So, a little bit of snow is no big deal afterall!

Hunter's Idol!

Hunter's idol, at least for the time being! This is also the theme of his big boy room! He LOVES the Disney movie "Cars"! Of course Lightning McQueen ranks #2 to Hunter's real idol, his Daddy!

My Dad Rocks!

Hunter has been a bit of a handful lately - he has been showing his independence as some would say. I say he is in the middle of some serious terrible two issues! Anyway, we went out yesterday to get Christian a special treat. We headed to Mrs. Fields to get a giant cookie with a special message on it from Hunter to his Daddy. Christian loved it!!! He came home for lunch to the yummy treat and it put a pretty big smile on his face! This made me so happy! I sure hope that Hunter gets a handle on being two before his little brother arrives in June! If not, this house is going to be a very exciting place and possibly in a not so good way!

For Those Wondering......

Here it is, a picture of me pregnant with our second little boy. I am 27 weeks along in the picture and the day after it was taken I finally began to wear maternity pants. Talk about crazy!!!

Daddy's Little Helper

Well, Hunter has become quite the little helper! He loves to help his Daddy each and every chance he gets. He still loves to help me vacuum, sweep and dust but if Daddy is doing a project then he is right there by his side! This past weekend we got lots done and Hunter was in heaven helping Christian with each project from setting up the TV in the great room to cleaning the carpets. It really was rather sweet to witness. Just think, this June Christian will have another little boy waiting to be big enough to help out with his projects!
