Bye Bye Baby Bathtub!

Evan had his first bath in the real bathtub tonight and was not quite sure what to make of it. He did not really want to look at the camera like he usually does but instead just stared at the water in the tub and held on to the chair. He seemed a little unsure of it all. Then his Daddy handed him a toy and it seemed to make all the difference. He still did not want to look at the camera but at least he eased up just a bit. In time I know he will really like his baths just like his older brother does. Major plus, no tears in the tub!!!

Just Smile!

These are just two pics of my boys that make me smile. I just love them to pieces!

Becoming Buddies!

Hunter and Evan are becoming buddies! It is great to watch them grow and play together! Hunter is constantly wanting to hold Evan. He is even getting into giving him hugs. I love it! Now, if only I could get Hunter to share his toys, especially his matchbox cars or cars in general, that would be great! Poor Evan only wants to play with whatever toy Hunter is playing with. One day Hunter will share and then all will be happy in the Schoeneman house. Right now I am just enjoying Hunter taking more of an interest in his brother.

Pants on the Floor!!!

Well, tonight it happened. Hunter went to the potty (because the timer asked him to), and when he came out, he said he was done with diapers. He handed me his diaper and asked Katie to wear big boy underwear.

SOOOO, in about 20 minutes, Hunter went up to Katie and wispered "Mommy, I need to go potty". Sure enough, Hunter went back to the toiled and went - JUST LIKE A BIG BOY!!!!

Oh man, we're on the road!!! Go Katie for being such a good mom, and for Hunter for growing up!!!

Just Around the Corner!

I cannot believe that Hunter will be THREE in just over a week!!! Wow! His big birthday bash is just around the corner too! Oh how time flies by! Before I know it Evan will be a year old. Hunter decided that he wanted a Lightning McQueen birthday party, no real surprise there since Lightning McQueen and Thomas the Train are his favorites right now! So, our house will be decked out in Lightning McQueen for the birthday boy. Can't wait to post those pics!

2+2=4

Evan now has 4 teeth! He cut his top 2 last night and you can see them today! Yay for Evan! Only 16 more teeth to go. I can't wait! At least he is not a horrible teether. It could be so much worse. I will have to take a pic once they are further up and catch one of those famous smiles from him! Stay tuned!

Prayers for Aidan.

Our wonderful friends welcomed their second son this past Saturday. Congratulations Tracy and Scott and welcome baby Aidan!!! However, they could use some extra prayers right now. Aidan is fighting a case of jaundice and his level keeps increasing. Tracy and Scott could use some support and well wishes! Tracy is doing well after the birth but just wishes that she could take her little man home. I don't blame her at all. That is what I want for her too.

Many prayers are being said for Aidan. We love you guys!

Fun with the Fountains!

We had some great friends over last night and we all had such a good time! Hunter loves when the Fountains come to visit especially because that means his friend Wally comes to play! Hunter and Wally have so much fun playing together and running all over the house. It is wonderful to watch them have a blast! Even the adults got in on the fun with the boys last night. They were all on the ground playing with all three boys, yes that meant Evan too! I loved it!

Kitten Love!

My parents recently got 3 siamese kittens and Hunter is in love with them, especially Lucy! He is constantly asking to go and see the baby kitties. He is so gentle with them. It is really cute! He even asked if he could bring the kitties home and of course I told him that they live with his MeeMaw and Papa. So, now he is wanting to go to MeeMaw's all the time to see the baby kitties. They kept his attention so much that he did not play with any of the matchbox cars that MeeMaw has at her house. Those kittens must be pretty important to him if they took higher priority to his matchbox cars!

It Is Official.....

We have a crawler!!! Evan is crawling and it is so cute! He always heads straight for Hunter and Hunter's toys. Hunter is not too excited about this and is not very happy about having to share his toys. But, alas, this too shall pass and they will become buddies. I am shocked that he is crawling at such a young age. He is just over 7 months. This spells trouble in my mind - early walker coming our way!

Babbling.

Evan has officially started to babble! He started with the "ba ba ba" sounds today and is constantly doing it and looks right at you as he "talks". It is like he has a lot to say and wants you to listen to each and every word of it! My baby boy is growing up! I love it! Let the baby talk begin! Hunter should get a kick out of it.

Baking Cookies!

We spent the day at my mom's house yesterday and Hunter loved every minute of it! Evan slept for a good part of it and I just enjoyed a little down time. While we were there Hunter was able to bake some cookies with his MeeMaw and had a great time! He loved stirring the ingredients in the bowl even though quite a bit of them ended up on the counter, floor and his clothes! It was pretty cute! His favorite part was eating the cookies shortly after they came out of the oven. My mom has always said there is just something extra yummy about a warm cookie! She must be right because Hunter could not get enough of them!

Sweet Evan and His Nana.

Evan got to spend the afternoon with his Nana Kay yesterday while we were out with Hunter. Nana Kay told us they had such a good time and that Evan was such a happy boy! When we got home Evan was fast asleep on Nana's lap. It was simply adorable! Thanks again Nana Kay!!!

Jungle Java Adventures!

We were able to spend the afternoon with just Hunter yesterday and we decided to take him to Jungle Java. (Thanks Nana Kay for watching Evan!) The boy loved it and is addicted to it now! He has asked at least 4 times to go back today! This place is HUGE and is Funtastic on steroids! There is so much to do that you completely lose track of time. We were there for 2 hours and it flew by and we had so much fun! I cannot wait for Hunter and Evan to both be able to enjoy it together!

Check Ups for the Boys.

We took both boys in for their check ups today. Hunter is 40 inches tall already and 36 pounds - tall and skinny! He was not happy at all to be at the doctor's office but he survived. He goes back in June to get 2 shots so that both boys get the MMR and Chicken Pox vaccines at the same time (2nd doses for Hunter and first for Evan). The doctor was very impressed that he knew all his colors, can count, knows his first and last name, his shapes, etc. Great check up for him! Evan checked out pretty good too. He was supposed to get his shots today but they were put off for another week since his throat is still red and sore. Ugggg...back to the doc next Friday. He is just about 18 pounds and almost 28 inches. He is long and skinny too! He is also about ready to pop two more teeth. That will bring him to 4 teeth total so far. Come on teeth!!! Hopefully he will have put on a little more weight by next Friday since he did not gain any since late December - thank you Strep Throat and the Flu. Needless to say, this has been a rough cold/flu season for us. However, both boys seem to be growing just fine despite the illnesses.

Hello 2010 and the 2010 Flu!

Evan and I rang in the new year with the 2010 Flu. We both came down with it on the 3rd and it moved very fast and was gone within 24 hours. The only silver lining that came with the flu other than it moving fast was that Christian and Hunter never got it!!! I guess getting the flu is one way to lose that excess holiday weight!

One other exciting thing going on over here is that Christian has decided that he is giving up smoking!!! I am so proud of him for taking on this challenge! He is going to be so happy once he kicks that habit! He can do it, I know he can. His entire family is behind him each and every step of the way!
