He will make a great big brother!

My cousin and her family came over yesterday to visit and test out how Hunter would be with a baby in his own house. He was GREAT!!! At first he was not all that interested in Ryan but as time went on his curiousity grew. It was wonderful to watch! He listened as we told him he had to be gentle with the baby and such and that is exactly what he was, gentle. He even started pointing at Ryan and saying "baby". So, he knew what Ryan was and everything! He watched as Erin fed Ryan and even sat next to her as she held Ryan and they looked at Hunter's baby book together. That was precious! Hunter even did well when Christian and I held Ryan. He did not have one meltdown! This gives us hope that he will be ok once his baby brother arrives. Sure, I am positive there will be moments when he has jealousy issues but we will work through it as a family. It was just reassuring that he did not meltdown once yesterday while the baby was here and we were holding him and talking to him. Once Erin and her family left Hunter kept looking around the house for the baby. He would go from room to room saying "baby" for a period of time. So, we know he liked when Ryan was here. He will get to see Ryan again this weekend because we are headed to Ryan's house for some visiting time! Hunter loves going to his Uncle Marius and Aunt Erin's house!!!

Something to make you all smile.

Just when I thought he could never figure out how to open it, HE DID!!! While I was getting Hunter's lunch made today he was quietly playing in his room. No big deal. Well, I stopped in to check on him and he had found the sample bottles of baby wash and I snatched them out of his hands and opened them up to discover they were sealed. So, I figured that he could play with one of the bottles and it would not be a problem. Man, was I wrong! He figured out how to peel the little foil seal off the bottle and proceeded to cover himself in baby wash!!! As I was in the kitchen I heard him say "uh oh mama" so I headed to his room to be greeted by a smiling, baby washed covered little boy! I had to laugh and he started to laugh too. I really wish I would have taken a picture of him before I stripped his clothes off and threw them in the washer. It really was a sight to see. Now when he sees the baby wash bottle he looks at me and says "no no mama"! How right he is! I bet you are all smiling after reading this story and if not you must be having one of "those" days!

In like a lion....

In like a lion and out like a lamb - not true! March is not going out like a lamb for us. We certainly had some interesting weather this past weekend. It ranged from warm temps last week to thunderstorms and diving temps on Saturday to snow on Sunday! So, the "lamb" part of March is not there. I guess it is ok that it snowed yesterday because it did not start until the evening and will not happen again any time soon. It is supposed to be in the 50s this entire week. I sure hope the warm up continues since April is literally right around the corner and hits this Wednesday. We are also lucky since we don't live in Colorado. My brother and his wife do and they got buried by a blizzard! So, a little bit of snow is no big deal afterall!

Hunter's Idol!

Hunter's idol, at least for the time being! This is also the theme of his big boy room! He LOVES the Disney movie "Cars"! Of course Lightning McQueen ranks #2 to Hunter's real idol, his Daddy!

My Dad Rocks!

Hunter has been a bit of a handful lately - he has been showing his independence as some would say. I say he is in the middle of some serious terrible two issues! Anyway, we went out yesterday to get Christian a special treat. We headed to Mrs. Fields to get a giant cookie with a special message on it from Hunter to his Daddy. Christian loved it!!! He came home for lunch to the yummy treat and it put a pretty big smile on his face! This made me so happy! I sure hope that Hunter gets a handle on being two before his little brother arrives in June! If not, this house is going to be a very exciting place and possibly in a not so good way!

For Those Wondering......

Here it is, a picture of me pregnant with our second little boy. I am 27 weeks along in the picture and the day after it was taken I finally began to wear maternity pants. Talk about crazy!!!

Daddy's Little Helper

Well, Hunter has become quite the little helper! He loves to help his Daddy each and every chance he gets. He still loves to help me vacuum, sweep and dust but if Daddy is doing a project then he is right there by his side! This past weekend we got lots done and Hunter was in heaven helping Christian with each project from setting up the TV in the great room to cleaning the carpets. It really was rather sweet to witness. Just think, this June Christian will have another little boy waiting to be big enough to help out with his projects!

Hello 27 Weeks!

Well, I officially hit 27 weeks yesterday and I had to surrender to maternity pants. I think I did pretty good making it this far in my regular pants. However, they were beginning to get uncomfortable and the maternity ones were looking pretty good. So, I made the switch and both baby and I are much more comfortable now. Only 13 more weeks to go - max!!! Holy cow, that is not that long!!!

Serious Nesting.

Wow, is all I have to say! We have some serious nesting going on in this house and it is not just by me. Christian has taken on so many projects that is has blown me away! He has completed so much already and is still doing more. He is currently cleaning ALL the carpets in the house and then plans on fixing a toilet that constantly runs. We have also started to gut the baby's room and change Hunter's room from a Winnie the Pooh nursery into a cool Lightening McQueen Cars little boy's room! This house is BUSY!! All because we are expecting another little boy in June. We have lots more on our "to do" list but it is safe to say that it is well under way and the nesting has begun!!! Now all I really want to do is get outside and clean up my gardens and open the pool! However, it needs to warm up a bit more before we can do those items. So, until then, we are getting the inside of the house prepped. I love it!!!

Welcome Spring!!!

Spring is officially here and I could not be any happier about it!!! Although it is still only in the 20s right now it is supposed to warm up over the next week. I am just happy to be able to say it is no longer winter! I also realized this morning that if our little man decides to make his debut early then this will be the season of his birth! That is so exciting!!! Yay for spring time!!! Now it just needs to be warm enough to get out into my gardens and spruce the yard up a bit and then open the pool!!!

"That" Child.

Wow, I have that child. I am sure all you parents out there know exactly what I mean by saying "I have that child". Hunter has decided how to use his vomit as a weapon. Today at lunch we were having white cheddar mac-n-cheese and he did not want to even try it. So, I asked him to try one bite and if he didn't like it we could have something else. Well, he opened his mouth and took an ever so small bite and looked right at me and purposely started to gag. He did this over and over until he made himself vomit all over his lunch and himself. He then proceeded to look at me and say "uh oh mommy". I was furious! This is not the first time he has successfully gotten out of eating something by making himself vomit. Uggggg......kids. Next, after he ate a very large lunch of pizza and bananas (his choice), he took his rocking chair over to the fish tank and pushed it over on its side and stood on it and opened the fish tank and proceeded to play with the fish and the water. He knows this is not allowed but does it anyway. I caught him in the act and he looked at me once again and said "uh oh mommy". Then he went to play in his room. I went in to check on him since it was pretty quiet and we all know that is not a good sign. Well, he had climbed up onto the top of his desk in order to reach his piggy bank to put some money into it. Again, I have caught him doing this before and he knows it is not allowed. But, he decides to do it anyway. I swear, I have "that" child. Just to think, Hunter will soon have a little brother that he can teach all his tricks to - won't that be fun!!! I do love my little man but sometimes I have no idea what gets into his little head. The terrible twos are so much fun!!!

Hi!!!

Hunter just wanted to say hi to everyone!!! He especially wanted to say hello to all of his out of state relatives! We hope everyone is doing well. Things here are GREAT!!!

HE DID IT!!!

I am so proud of my little man! While we were at Funtastic this morning with Patrick and Miss Tracy a huge milestone happended! Hunter decided that he wanted to use the big boy potty!!! He actually used the potty all on his own! He asked and everything! All our hard work is beginning to pay off! He may just be potty trained by the time his brother arrives after all! Even if he doesn't use the potty again for a while at least he used it on his own terms today. WooHoo!!! Way to go Hunter!!!

What a nice day!

To begin, Hunter decided to sleep in until after 8 am!!! This has not happened in months! We were amazed and really happy! Go Hunter! Then we went to Target later in the morning and we actually found a toddler bed and an entire bed set for Hunter. It is in the theme of the Disney movie "Cars". Hunter loves Lightening McQueen. So, move over Thomas the Train, it is all about Lightening now! His new room will be set to the theme of the movie "Cars". After his nap we ended up going to see MeeMaw since Papa was at Zumma's today. Hunter had a blast playing cars with MeeMaw and she had lots of fun too. Christian was able to relax a bit and so was I. It really was a nice time, just the four of us. We did miss Papa but we were able to visit for a few minutes once he got home as we were getting ready to leave.

Tomorrow looks like it will be another good day. We have plans to go and see Matt and Sam and then to the YMCA for some swimming in the afternoon. It is also supposed to be really nice outside. I think it will be a good day to take Trypp for a nice, long walk while the boys are at the pool.

Doctor Appts All Around!!!

I went in for another routine OB appt today and checked out great!!! I am still behind in weight gain compared to Hunter's pregnancy and my OB is not concerned at all. In fact she commented on how I am all baby and still not wearing maternity pants. Our little boy has moved again from head down to transverse. He still has a healthy heartbeat and is growing well. He is very active! This makes all of us very happy! I go at the beginning of April for my next Rhogam injection and my gestational diabetes test. Then it is back to the OB on April 9th. After that appt we move to our every 2 week appts! Wow, this pregnancy is flying by!!! I just love my OB and think she is the best!!!

Hunter had his 2 year appt today too. He checked out great!!! He is just over 32 pounds (90%) and is practically 38 inches tall (off the charts)! He is taking after his daddy in the height department! He is ahead in the speech department and doing well every where else! The doctor was surprised to hear that he knows his colors. Most 2 year olds do not. He has all of his teeth except for one molar which is breaking through right now. He got his Hep A vaccine and was not happy about that at all. He quickly got over that as soon as his doctor gave him a sucker. So, overall he had a great appt! He does not go back until he is 3 years old!

We all got a clean bill of health today! We have two very healthy and happy boys! Yay! What a great Friday the 13th so far!!!

Just a Cute Picture.

This is just a cute picture I took of Hunter and Christian yesterday. I thought it would make everyone smile! Enjoy!

Gymnastics Adventure!

This past Saturday we took Hunter to an open gym session at Downriver Gymnastics. It was lots of fun! Hunter seemed to have a good time at first but became overwhelmed with all the older and bigger kids throwing different tricks. We were not there very long but had a good time while we were there. Hunter really liked the balance beams. He was not too fond of the sponge pits. But, in his defense, they are rather deep and big! They can be somewhat scary if you have never seen one or been in one before especially if you are only 2 years old! Christian seemed to have a really good time too. He made a comment about everyone being about the same size - my size! That made me laugh! I don't think he has ever seen that many gymnasts in the same room at the same time before! It was quite a sight!

Fun at the Park!!!

Well, it was a beautiful day! It did indeed get up to 64 and maybe a little warmer. It was wonderful! So, after Hunter's nap we headed to the park to meet Vicki and Gage. It was lots of fun! Christian even met us at the park after he got off of work and that made Hunter really happy! It was so nice to be able to be outside and enjoy the sunshine and breeze practically all day long. I wish the warm weather was here to stay but I have a feeling we will get one or two more good cold snaps before winter decides to disappear. But, at least we are one day closer to spring! That is a good thing.

While we were at the park Hunter decided that he did not need his mommy to help him on the jungle gym anymore. That was kinda sad. My little baby is a little boy and is growing right before my eyes. It was great to stand back and just watch him run and play and have all sorts of fun. He even f0und a puddle and decided to jump right in! Of course, he did not like the fact that it made his shoes and pants wet! He also fell pretty good and got his first skinned knee of the year. Poor kiddo. He did not like that either. Nor did he like getting it cleaned up when we got home. He will survive, I am sure. Overall, we had a blast today and we are looking forward to gymnastics tomorrow.

64!!!!

It is supposed to get up to 64 here today!!! That is GREAT news! Hunter and I will certainly be outside for most of the day. First, we need to run to Target to get him some new jeans. He is wearing through the knees from playing with his matchbox cars! But, after that we are heading outside! Perhaps we will head over to Bishop Park or another park to enjoy the warm day. Where ever we decide to go it will be fun because we will be outside instead of trapped in the house! YAY!! Tomorrow it is supposed to be warm again but with rain so we are heading to gymnastics with Hunter. If that goes well then it will be an every Saturday thing! We will post some pictures of that adventure after we get back. I am really looking forward to being back in the gym even if I cannot throw any tricks because of the pregnancy. It will be a good time just watching my son have fun! I know Christian is looking forward to it too. More to come with some pics this weekend!!!! Until then, we will be OUTSIDE!!!

Why?

Why can't sick people just stay home? Come on already! My son has been battling a nasty cold and cough for almost a week now. This makes for a very cranky little man. I have been fighting it off for a few days and I think it is finally winning. Ugggggg...I really wish sick people would just keep their hind ends in their own house instead of venturing out and getting other people sick. It is so irritating! No matter where you go you end up running into someone who has something and is hacking and sneezing all over everything. This is getting old. We need Spring to get here so we can get outside. I am so done with all the sick people out there. Stay home already!!!

Silly Daddy, Crabby Kiddo!

We went to Reagan's first birthday party today and had lots of fun! Well, at least Christian and I did. Hunter warmed up and had a good time after a bit. This picture was taken early on and Hunter sure was crabby!!! Not sure why, he took a 3 1/2 hour nap before the party! But, then again, he is getting over a nasty cough that he caught from his cousins last weekend. I just love this picture!
