New Addiction!

My lovely husband has introduced me to the great world of Facebook! I have been asked by several people why I was not on Facebook yet and I would always tell them that I simply do not have the extra time. Well, that has changed, I think. Christian set up a page for me the other day and man oh man is that thing addicting! So, I think it is safe to say that I will find the extra time to visit that page quite often! I also promise to keep up with the blog and Picasa sites too. So, have no fear, things will not change with those sites. Wow, I am going to be busy. I guess being a mom to two little boys was not enough for me. I have added Facebook to my already overflowing plate!

1st "out of stater".

Evan met his first "out of stater" last week. Our cousin, Tim, came in to town for some business and stopped by to visit and meet our newest addition. It was a great time! Tim trys to stop in for a visit whenever he can when he comes to Michigan for business. We really enjoy seeing him and chatting for a bit. We can't wait to see him again come September! Evan will be meeting lots of "out of staters" in September and before that too!

Potty training is continuing to go well! Hunter uses the potty each and every night before he gets in the bathtub! Exciting! We are working on getting him to use it throughtout the day too. One step at a time! I did go out and buy lots of little surprises to give him once he starts using the potty on a more consistent basis. Hopefully, that will encourage him to continue with the training. But, for now, I am so happy that he is using the potty before bath time each night! Go Hunter!!!

For Daddy??

So we went to Nana's tonight while Katie went out with the girls. When we came home, Hunter had fully soaked his diaper in Nana's pool, so it came off. Then he tore to the bathroom...

Yes, he went potty on the toilet all by himself, without any help and without asking or being told!!!

Then - wait for it - he did it again just before bath!! Holy !@#$

So I called Katie (and there was suddenly a man at girls night out on the phone) and told her the great news! She went to Target after the restaurant and picked up some big boy undies for Hunter.

It starts. Was it for Daddy?

PS. Sorry no pics on this one...

Great Big Brother!

Hunter is a great big brother! He loves to help out with Evan each and every chance he gets. This morning he helped keep Evan calm while I was making Evan a bottle and then after our morning walk he gave Evan his pacifier! He is such a wonderful helper! I am so lucky to have him to help out.

June 22

This day marks 31 years and counting. Wow, I have done a lot in 31 years. However, what I am most proud of is the man I married and my two beautiful sons. Without them my life would not be as full as it is. So, thank you to my lovely family for making my 31st birthday special.

2 Kids

Wow, that is all I have to say about 2 kids. We are so done having kids. 2 is my max! I can guarantee that Christian feels the exact same way. We finally got one figured out and he is back to normal and sleeping well once again and now we have another one to try and figure out. Talk about work! The hour free time that I used to have while Hunter napped no longer exists. Evan has engulfed it big time! However, I do love having 2 sons. I can honestly say that our family is now complete.

On a different note, I want to take a moment to wish my husband a wonderful Father's Day! He truly deserves it! He is the best dad that I know and Hunter and Evan will totally agree with me. I could not have picked out a better dad for them if I tried. Christian is awesome as a dad! So, one last time, Happy Father's Day Christian!!!

Favorite Jeans!

Oh, the joys of pre-pregnancy clothes! It is almost like going shopping and discovering your favorite jeans all over again! I was able to wear them yesterday - just FIVE days after having Evan! That is amazing to me! Woo Hoo! I still have a little bit of baby weight to go but I should be done by the end of June or sooner. Now, if only I could get my chest to go back to its normal size I would be all set! That took forever after I had Hunter. Oh well. One of the many joys of motherhood!

Farewell Shadowfax

We sold the boat!!!! We are very happy to have it sold but very sad at the same time to see her go. Christian took Hunter down to the marina on Saturday while Shadowfax was being surveyed and she was in the water. He was able to take Hunter aboard the boat and show him around. That was Hunter's first time on a boat and sadly it was his last time on Shadowfax. There will be another boat in the future. It is just not practical for us right now. Shadowfax is a great boat and deserves to be in the water and to have her sails open to catch the winds. She will get just that with her new owners. So, for now we are saying farewell to sailing but we will say hello to it once again in the future with another sailboat.

Small Fry Has Arrived!

Evan Matthew arrived in the early morning on June 10th - 2 weeks ahead of schedule! He was born at 4:09 am, was 7 lbs 5 oz and 20 inches long! He has a full head of hair and dark blue eyes for now. He is exact opposite of Hunter - quiet and very calm. It is nice to have such an even tempered child for now. We shall see what the future holds!

His arrival took us all by surprise. I did not know I was in active labor during the hockey game on Tuesday. My contractions were not very strong or very regular. However, by 10 pm some of the contractions had gotten pretty intense so I called my OB who instructed my to go and get checked out at the hospital. I was convinced it was false labor and that we would be sent home. Boy, was I wrong. When we arrived at the hospital and I was checked out I discovered I was already at a 7 and moving fast! Thank goodness we went in when we did. I got my epidural by 11:30pm and it slowed my labor big time. It relaxed me so much that Evan floated up and out of the birth canal and we were told that we may need a c-section to deliver him if we could not get him to reengage. Well, a little pitocin fixed that problem and by 4:05am I began to push and 4 minutes later Evan made his debute! Everything worked out great and we arrived home yesterday. We are currently adjusting to being a family of 4 and loving every minute of it! Hunter is a wonderful big brother so far and I have no doubt he will continue it! So, there ya have it! The birth of Evan Matthew - short, sweet and no messing around. That boy meant business!

(I will post some pics just as soon as I upload them to the computer.)

No such luck.

The full moon has come and gone and Small Fry is still happy in his little home. So, I guess the tales of the full moon did not prove true for me. Oh well. At least it is June and he has to come sometime this month! He will pick the perfect day.

Full Moon

We shall see if what they say about a full moon holds true. If Small Fry arrives tonight or tomorrow then the tales are true! Something is telling me not to believe in those tales. Only time will tell. Come on full moon!!!

That's my boy!

Hunter has recently taken an interest in one of my favorite drinks - Miller Lite! He says "beer" clear as day and as Christian was drinking one he looked up at it and said "yummy"!!! Smart kid! It is a total mystery where he learned to say beer and to recognize one. My little man is growing up, the right way! Now, if only Small Fry would get here I could enjoy a Miller Lite with my husband!

New Love!

Coconut milk yogurt is wonderful! Hunter loves it! He had the strawberry banana flavor this morning for breakfast and so far so good! I am so happy he liked it as much as he did. I tried a little bit of it too and it is quite yummy. After reading the container I also discovered that it is actually much healthier for you than regular yogurt - major bonus! Next flavor, chocolate or blueberry.

Friday Already?!?!

I visited my OB once again today. Everything looks great with Small Fry and myself. He is engaged now and ready to go. I have stopped gaining weight and am holding steady at a mere 23 pound weight gain for the entire pregnancy! That is less than what I gained with Hunter!!! Small Fry has a strong and steady heartbeat and is showing no signs of any problems. We are just waiting for him to decide to come out and meet us all! My OB is estimating that he will be about 6 1/2-7 pounds if I go full term. That is what Hunter was and his birth was a breeze. She does not seem to think Small Fry's birth will be any different other than being a lot shorter than Hunter's labor and delivery was. That was only 9 hours. She is thinking this time around will only be about 5 hours. I will certainly take that!!! I will update more next Thursday after my next appt unless something happens first!

Oh, on a different note, we got some more news on Hunter from his allergist. So, if you are interested in knowing what is going on with that just email me and I will send you all the details. There is just too much information to put down on the blog.

Wishful Thinking.

There is a full moon on Sunday. You know what they say about full moons and babies! Well, my gut has always said this little boy will come on June 8th, not sure why I feel that way but I do - wishful thinking on my part. Well, Sunday's date is June 7th! Perhaps the full moon will do its magic on me!!! I will be 38 weeks and considered full term so that is great in my mind! We shall see. Christian has his mind set on June 15th. My cousin Erin is betting on June 20. Nana Kay has taken the 10th and now my Aunt Mary is going for the 12th. Anyone else care to guess when this little guy will make his debute? It is all fun and games, of course. Sadly, no, there is no money involved. If you are right you will merely get the satisfaction of being right. So, guess away!

It continues.

"Baby Boo Boo" continues! Even though the scrape is nearly gone it still gets its much needed attention. A kiss must be administered each and every time "Baby Boo Boo" is mentioned.

Oh, yeah, I am still pregnant too. At least I am over 37 weeks now. Any day now would be fine with me for Small Fry to arrive.

Boo Boo

Seriously, my son has a scrape on his elbow from playing outside yesterday and you would think his arm was close to falling off! All he can say over and over is "boo boo" and then hold up his elbow for a kiss. I have kissed his elbow at least a dozen times this morning and he has only been up for 45 minutes! The first thing out of his mouth when I went in to get him out of his crib was "boo boo". It was cute to hear the first few times but the cuteness has since worn off. He also has a tiny scrape on his thumb and he refers to that as "baby boo boo". Now, honestly, that is cute!
