Easter Fun!

Hunter had a little taste of Easter this past Saturday and he loved it! He went to an Easter Egg Hunt at a local park and had a blast picking up all the different colored eggs and seeing what kind of surprises they held! I really liked the fact that the hunt was organized into age groups so the younger kids were not getting plowed over by the older ones. Great idea! Then after the egg hunt we all went to an Easter party where we met up with some friends. Well, Hunter was not into the party at all and had much more fun running around with his buddy Patrick. So, we left well enough alone and let them run and run and run! Now I am looking forward to this coming Friday when we get to go the the Marshmellow Drop at another park by our house. A helicopter is going to fly over head and drop about 20,000 marshmellows for the kids to run and gather up and turn in for Easter prizes!!! We had fun at this event last year but it should be even better this year now that Hunter is older and it is supposed to be warm and dry! Cannot wait!! That will just be the beginning of our very busy Easter weekend!

More Kitten Love.

Hunter is still into the kittens at my parent's house. He just loves snuggling with them each and every chance he gets! He cannot seem to understand why the kittens run and hide under the couch when he arrives. Hmmmm...could it be because he is so loud?!?!? Once he calms down and the kittens venture out he sits and waits on the couch for them to come to him. Mia usually curls up on his lap and purrs pretty loud. This makes Hunter smile from ear to ear! I just hope he is not getting any ideas about kittens at our house. That will never ever happen! He can enjoy them at MeeMaw's house. We have our two kitties and that is plenty for us. I must admit that I do really enjoy seeing him so happy over the kittens. Just look at that smile on his face!

First Sleepover!

Attempt, that is. Hunter had his friend Wally attempt to sleep over last night. It went really well. The boys had tons of fun running around our house as well as Nana Kay's yard and house! We even made two beds on Hunter's bedroom floor and it was just like camping. After baths, teeth brushing and pjs it was time for bed. Both boys climbed into their camp beds and snuggled into bed for the night. At least that is what I thought. All was well and the boys were giggling and talking about the trains that they heard outside. Then Wally realized he was not sleeping in his own bed at home with his mom and dad close by. He really missed them and wanted to go home. Totally understandable, Wally is only 4 and this was his first sleepover other than at his grandparent's house. He did great and made it to 10:30!!! We will certainly try another sleepover again in the future. Until then we will enjoy daytime visits!

Lake Erie Metropark.

We spent some time at Lake Erie Metropark last week and really enjoyed every minute of it. The boys enjoyed the breeze that was blowing and we did as well. Hunter had lots of fun playing down by the lake and gathering shells. He also had fun playing on the playscape and the swings. Evan giggled the entire time of his first ride on the swings! Hunter laughed right along with him! It was great! Evan was pretty tuckered out by the time we left and he was out cold before we hit the truck. Hunter was not far behind. It was a nice and quiet ride home. Christian and I were actually able to have a conversation! Good time!

Biter Biscuit Heaven!

Evan loves his biter biscuits! There is no doubt about it. When you give him one he is so happy and content and will just sit in his booster chair munching away. However, the mess is just plain gross! It takes a bit to clean him up and he does not like that part at all.

My Little Star.

I could not resist taking these pics of Evan the other day. He looked so cute peeking through the wooden screen in our house. Adorable!

Calder's Dairy Farm

We headed to Calder's Dairy Farm yesterday and discovered a new favorite place to visit! We all had a great time! The best part was it was free!!! We fed goats, horses, ducks, geese, swans and chickens. Lots of animals!!! Hunter and I had so much fun feeding the goats from our hands! Dolly followed us for quite some time after we fed her looking for more food. Pretty cool. We saw lots and lots of cows and even watched them get milked. There were even baby cows and Hunter loved those! He was not a fan of the yuckies on the ground and neither was Christian once we got home and he was on shoe duty and cleaning them all! But, it was a great trip! Hunter loved playing in the white dairy truck. He is still asking to go back and play in it. Evan also had lots of fun! He was giggling and smiling as we were feeding the ducks and geese. They were even coming up to his stroller. This really made Evan happy! Cannot wait to go back!

Crib Play.

For some reason the boys love to play with Evan's crib while Evan is in it. Hunter acts like a little monkey and tries to climb in and this makes Evan laugh super hard. I was able to catch it with my camera the other day and got lots of cute pics but decided these two were the best ones. Hunter will also toss most of Evan's toys in the crib for Evan to play with while he runs around the room making himself and Evan laugh. I love watching them play together. It helps make up for the times when they do not play so nice.

Quite Content.

We went to the petstore yesterday and the boys were pretty content in the shopping cart. Evan loves to sit and go for a ride and look at everything in the store and Hunter has a blast sitting in the bottom part of the cart. Of course, this makes grocery shopping a challenge and I can only get a few items at a time if both boys go with me. But, it is so cute seeing them both content in the same cart. They loved looking at all the fish and we even went home with a few new ones to add to our tank. It was a good trip with zero meltdowns!

Gymnastics.

Hunter recently began taking gymnastics at a local gym and kinda likes it. He is a big fan of the trampoline and the sponge pit but not so much with the other things. He does not like the obsticale course or the balance beam but I am hoping in time he will enjoy it more. Of course if he does not like it after the next couple of sessions I will not force it on him. He needs stuctured classes of some kind and we do this event with our local mom's group. He also takes swimming lessons and a toddler gym class too. We are getting him ready to follow more instructions because he is signed up for preschool in the fall. God help us!

Flying High!

Christian loves to put his boys on his shoulders to give them rides and the boys both really enjoy them too! It is quite cute but I must admit it scares me when he runs fast with them up on his shoulders. I find myself closing my eyes when he does this and just waiting for the scream. It has never happened but I am still nervous. I have so many pics of Hunter on Christian's shoulders and now I am beginning to gather them of Evan. Fun times!

Evan's Playdate.

Almost two weeks ago Evan had his first playdate! His friend Dominik came to play for a couple of hours. Evan and Dominik are only 12 days apart in age so I think they will be pretty good friends! Not to mention, Dominik's parents run Funtastic! So, we see a lot of Dom and his mom. Evan seemed to really enjoy sharing his table with Dom. Hopefully Hunter will pick up on Evan's sharing skills and begin to share himself. A mom can hope, right?!?!? Anyways, we are always looking forward to our playdates!

Evan Adores Hunter!

This picture says it all. Look at the look on Evan's face. He simply adores Hunter. He wants to be by his big brother all the time. Hunter is not too fond of this all the time. However, he is pretty good about it for the most part. I hope they continue to grow and bond.

Our Days Are Numbered!

Yesterday was a big day for Evan. He took three steps all on his own!!! He stood up and looked at me and took three wobbly steps and then instantly sat down!!! He has not done it since then but he is standing alone all the time now so I know our days are numbered to when we will have two kids walking and nobody crawling. Kinda sad but exciting all at the same time. I still cannot believe we are already at this point in his life. He is only nine months old!

Slow Down!!!

Alright, I know Hunter was an early walker but come on already. Evan started crawling at 6 1/2 months and then started cruising soon after. Well, yesterday he decided it was time to start standing alone and has continued that trick today. So, I decided to bring out one of the walk behind toys and sure enough he stood right up behind it and toddled across the room! Just shy of 9 months and he is already walking behind a toy. There are a few people betting that he will be walking by the time Easter rolls around. I am not too sure about that one but we shall see. I just cannot believe how fast he is growing!

Hello Booster Chair!!!

The time has come to retire the highchair, for now anyways. Evan has graduated to using his booster chair! Come to think of it, he never really used the highchair. Now, Hunter used it all the time! Not Evan. It is amazing how different my two boys are. I still cannot believe that Evan is almost 9 months old. Where has all the time gone? Oh, he also got two more teeth this past week and has entered the lovely phase of separation anxiety. Fun times at the Schoeneman home!!! Really, they are fun times! Evan is an excellant teether just like his brother was, a little slower but the same happy attitude!

Me and My Boys.

I just love these pics of me and my boys! Christian snapped them the other night and I simply love them both!!! Just wanted to share them. Great job Sweetie!

Markers and Toddlers DO NOT Mix!

This is what happens when a toddler is left alone with markers. This makes for a very angry mommy! I was shocked when I saw what Hunter had done. Thank goodness it was washable markers. Those are the only ones we allow him to use. I was blown away that he did this since he knows he is only to color on paper. He even had his coloring book right next to him. Grrrrr....at least it washed off the table.

My Little Baker.

Hunter loves to help out in the kitchen! He always pulls in his barstool to sit on and help out with whatever we are doing. So, the other day we decided to make a strawberry cake. He had a great time! He helped pour all the ingredients into the bowl and then mixed it. Once the cake was baked and cooled he helped to frost and decorate it. Of course, he had to sample the frosting and sprinkles! I think his first cake turned out pretty good! Perhaps we have a future baker or chef on our hands!
